WHO AM I?

My name's Al Natrins - I'm a self-defence instructor, personal trainer, and nutrition coach with 16 years experience - and I run Resilience, a vibrant and dynamic self defence club and 1:1 / small group coaching service based in Kings Heath, Birmingham. ​​ 

 

I am non-macho, completely LGBTQ+ inclusive, neurodivergent supportive, and body positive.  I am a great coach for anyone worried about fitting in within a general martial arts club or mainstream training environment.​​

WHAT DO I DO?

I help people feel safe in their bodies, connected to themselves, and powerful in their lives.


I run inclusive group classes in Kings Heath, plus practical workshops for businesses and education across Birmingham and the Midlands.

​

If you want a completely personalised approach, I also offer bespoke private 1:1 and small group Resilience Coaching.

​​

Our physical training is rooted in Krav Maga - a practical system designed for real-life situations - but I believe true resilience goes beyond surviving a physical threat. That’s why my coaching blends self-defence with functional fitness, nutrition, and mindset.

 

 

Depending on how you choose to train with me or the club, the focus includes:

  • Practical Self-Defence: awareness, boundary setting, de-escalation, and Krav Maga-based skills (striking, defences, grabs, weapon threats, ground defences, and protecting others).

​

  • Functional Fitness: building strength, stamina, and mobility so you feel capable and energetic in everyday life.

​

  • Nutrition & Wellbeing: learning how to fuel your body and regulate stress without rigid diets, macho bootcamp rules, or burnout.

​

  • Mindset & Confidence: building calm under pressure so you can stay grounded, make good decisions, and act with confidence. ​
